![]() The soundscape is sparse, but appropriate. ![]() Same with the splash screens symbolizing the different means of travel. There is a lot of towns you can visit during your travels: Every city I ever heard of and quite a few I never heard of are here, all of them with their unique splash screens and stories, but while the art style is striking and different, the vistas aren't exactly breathtaking, and while every scene is filled with lots of little details, over time the different cities start to blend into each other. There is a little challenge in planning the trip, because you' always have to keep the time limit in mind and procuring funds is an issue that actually has to be addressed now and then, but you have to want it pretty bad to actually fail the game. And over it all the famous challenge: make it across the world in 90 days. It’s main gameplay loop is quite simple: depart from a city, read the novella occurring during travel, arrive at the next city, read the short story occurring in that city, procure funds via the market or the bank, plan your next trip, take it. But it requires a bit of patience to get from one pearl to the next.Īt its core, 80 days is a collection of vignettes and novellas, wrapped into the bare bones of the plot of the well-known Jules Verne novel, with the steampunk elements and colonialism criticism dialed up to eleven. If it was a hardcore action game I could deal with an abrupt story end.īut '80 Days' ends up feeling like you were halfway through a book, when suddenly someone ripped up the last 3 chapters. but no walkthrough mentions them, not all start seeds have them, and there's no hint of how to bring the tale to the surface. I've found other subplots which I'm fairly sure have a deeper storyline. How could you not realise that to finish the Mongolian plot you needed to travel between two particular cities in South America, in order to meet someone who'd never previously been mentioned? And that's far from the worst example. If at any point you fail to go to the right city, or choose the right conversational option, your fascinating story comes to an abrupt halt. Plot hooks and conversational links are so obscure that you'll either need hundreds of playthroughs or a walkthrough guide. But with no save system, you cannot explore the "What ifs?" of your current story. I agree with most of the positive reviews but, as someone who likes to explore a game's story, '80 Days' deeply frustrated me.īy force quitting the game prior to ending a conversation, it is possible to replay the most recent conversation. ![]()

![]() ![]() At the end of its session, the Legislature extended postpartum care to one year. Until just days ago, Texas also long resisted providing Medicaid to women for more than two months after a pregnancy, despite increasing maternal mortality rates and the pleas of medical experts. The story is much the same in more populous Texas, the long Republican-controlled state that pioneered a dystopian bounty law to snare anyone who aided or abetted an abortion - before it and other states got the Supreme Court’s green light to ban them. The state’s mortality rate for women in the year following the end of a pregnancy is nearly double the national average, and deaths have long been disproportionately high among Black women. Healthcare, business and grassroots groups had long pressed for the extended care, and with good reason. The big-talking governor did relent on one policy that he and the Legislature have previously opposed: He recently signed a bill giving women who qualify for the state’s limited Medicaid coverage a full year of postpartum care, up from just two months. Republicans want to ban abortion but have not proposed measures to help pregnant women and their children once they are born. Opinion Column: Republican ‘pro-life’ advocacy ends with a child’s birth And yet, the publication reported, “There was no serious push by Republicans in the 2023 session to even debate expansion, let alone vote on it.” But the state - first in the nation in both overall poverty and child poverty, and second from the last in healthcare - still refuses to take the single step that would help the most low-income families: It is one of just 10 states, all of them with Republican-controlled legislatures, Republican governors or both, that hasn’t expanded Medicaid for certain uninsured low-income adults and children, even though the feds mostly pick up the tab under the 2010 Affordable Care Act.Įconomists say the state is forfeiting about $1.5 billion annually to provide roughly 300,000 residents with healthcare, according to Mississippi Today. 2 - Congress has done all it can on gunsĪmerica’s assault weapons ban, in effect from 1994 to 2004, shows that such a law enacted now would mean many fewer Nashvilles in the future.Īfter the Dobbs decision, Mississippi quickly banned abortion except in cases where a woman’s life is in danger or when a pregnancy results from a rape, if the rape has been reported to police. When it comes to abortion bans and post-Dobbs policies, the gap between bold talk about compassion for disadvantaged women and children and action on their behalf is particularly stark. Besides, as John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, says, “This is not an either/or situation - states can invest in mental health services while also passing laws to prevent people with dangerous histories from buying guns.” Yet gun safety groups see little follow-through on the former. After each mass shooting, Republicans say attention to mental health, not firearm restrictions, is the answer. Alas, few things were more predictable than the fact that they wouldn’t.Ī similar political dynamic is at work with gun policies. Most state legislatures have held their 2023 sessions those with antiabortion majorities have had the time and opportunity to make good on their promises to strengthen their states’ safety nets. Reeves proclaimed on national television networks, “We must show that being pro-life is not just about being antiabortion” and “do everything we can to make it easier on those moms who may be in unwanted pregnancies” and to ensure “that those babies, once born, have a productive life.” Jackson Women’s Health Organization, to the Supreme Court, and that is a perennial bottom-dweller in rankings of the states’ safety nets. ![]() ![]() Method #1: Reduce eBay selling fees – Automatically Reclaiming Non-Paying Bidder Fees * The menus differ between countries, but the idea is the same – you need to locate the “Apply” button for the “merchant rate”. Try CrazyLister for free! Easily create professional, mobile-optimized eBay listings Method #3: Avoid eBay fees – Don’t buy eBay listing EnhancementsĮBay offers an inbuilt “Listing Designer” to add themes to your eBay listing, it costs 0.30$ per listing and looks like this – It can save you substantial amounts, especially when you’re paying large sums of money. Takeaway – Check the option of paying your suppliers with PayPal’s mass payment. This comes to a saving of between $174 and $122. Sending the same $5000 with “Mass Payment” from an Israeli PayPal account will cost just $1, and from a UK PayPal account £35 GBP ($53). Sending your supplier $5000 with the simple “send money” will usually cost around $175 (3.5%) which the supplier will pay- this naturally will increase the price they charge you. Mass payment fees vary between countries, while it’s $1 for an Israeli account, it’s £35 GBP for a UK one. This way you can reduce your paypal fees – when paying your suppliers, partners etc. This option allows merchants to send money for a fixed fee, while the recipient (usually the supplier) pays no fees. PayPal has a payment method which they don’t advertise, and is not usually enabled until you contact them and specifically ask for it, it’s called – “Mass payment”. When sending money, PayPal charges the receiving party a fee of approx 3.5% + a fixed fee of approx $0.30 – this varies according to the transaction volume of the merchant and the country where the PayPal account is registered. This tactic is relevant to those merchants who pay their suppliers with PayPal. Method #4: Reduce Paypal fees – Paying suppliers with “Mass Payment” Takeaway – Once you have steady business on international eBay sites, consider opening a dedicated account with its own separate store on the specific eBay site to avail of the maximum possible discounts and reduce eBay fees. Pro tip: I wouldn’t recommend this tactic if you’re just starting out, this is more relevant to when you already have a steady stream of sales, and know for sure that you have a market for your products on specific eBay sites. This way we enjoyed the maximum discount possible. Then we subscribed to stores dedicated to these sites. Understanding this, we opened “dedicated” eBay accounts for every eBay site we were selling on – Australia, France, UK, US, and Germany. The problem is that eBay only allows you to subscribe to one store per eBay account, So if you’re selling on multiple eBay sites (like us) with one account, you are forced to open your store on just one of those sites, and get the discounts for just one eBay site. In the scenario above, you’ll save the most eBay fees with the Basic store. In the example above your selling data is as follows: ![]() ![]() ![]() You will not be charged until the driver picks up your car. We will never have you pay a driver directly. I own a macbook pro from mid 2012 with macOS Catalina version 10.15.3. I figured it might be linked to the design itself, so I copy-pasted the apostrophe of a "real" font, but it won't display either. Hi, Im Lucila from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I ran back "Find Problems.", but it can't see anything wrong with it. What Is A Font What makes typefaces different from hand-writing, calligraphy, lettering, and logos The single biggest issue that makes type design different is the need for every glyph in the typeface to work with every other glyph. The second will add a new function that works on fontforge.glyph objects, similar to build, but will instead take a combining class type and place an anchor. This is the first of two new needed APIs. ![]() This is where I encountered a problem: The apostrophe won't display in InDesign, I only get the little square. This is needed for fontforge703, which I'm implementing as a Python script. You could probably achieve the effect of custom glyphs displayed in a custom font by (ab)using ligatures. I am told that in 10.6 the prefered method of grouping fonts is to use ttc files, prior to 10.6 ttc files didn't work (well) and the prefered method was to produce mac font families. Usually, when a keystroke has no meaning after a dead key, it defaults to printing the character of the dead key, followed by the new character that has been typed.
